At 4Blooms.Guru, one of our ongoing missions is to be a clear voice for cannabis activism, progress, and promotion of the industry. As cannabis marketers, we know that under the current regulatory schemes, it can be tough to promote the cannabis cause using traditional methods.
What we’ve found as San Diego’s first cannabis marketing company is that it takes something extra to get your voice heard, and to promote the cause of cannabis with all its wonderful health and economic benefits. In our experience, one of the most effective ways to further the cannabis cause and public discussion is to attend cannabis events frequently and regularly. This is one of the best ways to showcase your products and services, make new connections in the industry, and establish your position in a very public and meaningful way.
The following are some of our top choices for cannabis events in 2019. There are more events out there, and the numbers are growing each year, but these are some of our absolute favorites:
December 11-13, 2019 | Las Vegas
MjBizCon is one of the most successful industry trade shows out there. It drew more than 25,000 people to Las Vegas in 2018 making it the largest industry trade show in the US. More than 1,000 exhibitors were featured, offering a expansive array of services from business software to harvesting equipment. This is the place to mingle, interact, and network with prominent and promising cannabis professionals. This is a wonderful place to create opportunities for your cannabusiness. Could 2019’s event be even bigger? Definitely. Are we going back? Without a doubt.
NCIA: Cannabis Business Summit & Expo
July 22-24, 2019 | San Jose
If you are serious about your position in the cannabis industry you should consider the Cannabis Business Summit (CBS) hosted by the National Cannabis Industry Association. While it isn’t as large as MjBizCon, it is still a place for entrepreneurs to exchange information and best practices to help each other succeed. It is heavily centered around the B2B aspect of the cannabis industry and will let you find a partner for whatever your business may be lacking. If you have a fledgling cannabis company this is a great place to learn how to scale your business and meet like-minded entrepreneurs.
Cannabis World Congress & Business Exposition
Multiple Dates | New York | Los Angeles | Boston
The Cannabis World Congress & Business Exposition is one of the largest B2B trade shows in the cannabis industry. Held 3 times a year, it is one of the nation’s leading forums for all types of cannabis businesses: growers, suppliers, dispensary owners, investors, legal and medical professionals, extractors, artists and scientists, and others. It is held in the country’s major financial centers: New York, Los Angeles, and Boston. Don’t miss out on this one, it’s a great chance to link up with professionals in the industry.
New West Summit
October 2019 | tbd
The New West Summit conference is truly unique and one-of-a-kind in terms of cannabis events. This is the first conference focusing exclusively on ground-breaking developments in science, technology, investment, and disruptive developments in the cannabis industry. The Summit is an excellent place to get a sneak peak at the latest cannabis technology and products before they hit the market. Meet some of the brightest minds and entrepreneurs to help you stay ahead of the game and up-to-date with the latest cannabis industry news (before it even comes out!). Our industry friends say that this is one of the best cannabis events to attend each year.

National Cannabis Festival
April 20, 2019 | Washington, D.C.
This is one is a truly happy and joy-filled meeting ground. The National Cannabis Festival is an all-day event held in Washington D.C. It focuses on some of the aspects of the cannabis industry that mean so much to all of us: advocacy, education, activism, and of course, good music and vibes. If you’ve been running your business hard all year (as you should be), and need a place to remind you of the passion that goes into cannabis, this is a great place to be.
To maximize your time and productivity at the Festival, we highly recommend visiting (or participating in if you can) the Exhibition Fair section for the latest in cannabis demos, gear, art, fashion, products, and more.
We can’t leave this list without giving you a chance to check out some of our own events. We are truly fond of sparking discussion in the local San Diego community and beyond, and we have a heart for both newer cannabis businesses and those making pivots to scale and grow. Past events have included local workshops with highly specific themes such as Hyperlocal Social Media Marketing. We also help promote events for local cannabis businesses, such as a premiere screening of Mary Janes, an award-winning documentary highlighting the efforts of women in cannabis.
